Kym Lee is a native Washingtonian who graduated from Bowie State University with honors. Upon graduation, Kym attended Georgetown Law School in hopes of being a top entertainment lawyer. While in law school, she worked at her family owned salon in her spare time. It was there that she discovered her passion was not law, but beauty.

 

While in pursuit of her dream she landed a makeup position at B.E.T. where she's been for the past 11 years. Kym's makeup artistry has graced the pages of Essence, Black Enterprise, People, and Glamour magazines. She is also the lead Makeup artist for the Tom Joyner Sky Show, B.E.T.'s annual "Walk of Fame" and the Washington Redskinettes Dance Team. In addition, she is the co-owner of Outer Skinz Image Group where you can hear her live every morning on Heaven 1580 giving makeup and beauty tips.

 

Some of Kym's brushes with fame include, Condoleezza Rice, Hillary Clinton, Venus and Serena Williams, Gerald Levert, Ojays, Usher, Bow Wow, Cash Money Millionares, Lil Wayne, Monique, Lil Mo, and Omarosa, to name a few. However, make up is not all she's made of acknowledging that her work is more than skin deep.

 

"My makeup case is my pulpit, and it opens the door for me to encourage people spiritually," she says. "It isn't just about meeting the stars and making them beautiful, it's about making a difference!" As Kym happily admits, her passion has finally met her purpose now that she is a graduate of Calvary Bible Institute and a licsensed Minister. Min. Kym is an active member of Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church where her pastors are Bishop Alfred & Co-Pastor Susie Owens.

 

Helping youth and young adults is her mission as she volunteers at Covenant House and Hanna's House on a consistent basis. Min. Kym's favorite scripture is Philippians 1:6, Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. She always tells people, never stop dreaming . . .  You can do anything with Christ on your side.
