| Edwina Findley, Actress, HBO's The Wire |

Artistry. Beauty. Passion. Faith. Can It All Possibly Fit In One Package?
Edwina
Findley makes it happen. Perhaps best known for her role as Tosha
Mitchell, Omar’s gun-toting sidekick on HBO’s “The Wire”, the NYU
alumna has recently rejoined The Wire’s creative team for the new HBO
pilot, “Treme”, set in post-Katrina New Orleans. She has also joined
the cast of George Lucas’ upcoming film, Red Tails about the historic Tuskegee Airman, alongside acting notables Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Terrance Howard.
A
quickly rising star, Edwina has performed in eight countries, sung in
seven languages and has appeared in such popular television shows as
Law and Order, One Life to Live, HBO’s The Wire, New Amsterdam, and
Fox’s Blue Blood (directed by Brett Ratner). Theatrically, she has
graced both Off-Broadway and regional stages, and her fascinating
ability to capture the human experience has been hailed by critics as
"Powerful", "Vibrant", "Stunning", and a "Marvel to Watch".
The multi-talented twenty-something is a native of Washington, D.C.,
where she began singing at age two. By age three, she had memorized and
performed an entire chapter of the Psalms at church, and her parents
quickly realized she was no ordinary child. They soon enrolled her in
drama, piano, dance, and any other activity they believed would nurture
the special gifts and talents of their child.
Edwina
went on to graduate from the renowned Duke Ellington School of the
Arts, and joined the ranks of fellow alumni Denyce Graves and Dave
Chappelle. From there she attended New York University, where her work
was distinguished by the Outstanding Artist and Scholar Award,
Founder’s Day Award, Dean’s List, and induction into the Tisch
University Scholars Program.
In addition to her work in the entertainment industry, Edwina receives great joy from helping others maximize their God-given potential. She is the Founder and CEO of Abundant Life Creative Services, LLC, www.abundantlifecs.com, and has presented well over a hundred motivational and artistic workshops around the country for performing arts programs, schools, ministries, and social service organizations. She is a contributing writer for WOW! Women of the Word Magazine, Child Advocate for the global humanitarian organization World Vision, and active member of the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Whether filming a movie, speaking to students, or feeding the homeless, Edwina wholeheartedly believes that with God ALL things are possible, and she’s excited to see what other opportunities He has in store!
